Leftovers

Christmas was lovely. I've put a picture of the food here but PGL has more photos on imagestation (instructions on her blog). There are two Christmas celebrations there so don't get confused (the other one had a bigger turkey and roast pork, I feel outdone!).

All I've done since Christmas is eat. We leave for Portugal (and then Spain) tomorrow and I'm on a mission to consume all the leftover Christmas food. I made turkey curry yesterday and turkey soup (which wasn't so photogenic).

I'll be away for a week and a half but I'm coming up with a game to entertain you all until I get back...

Wow - how did you know I had post my photos up? Thanks again for so generously hosting such a scrumptious xmas feast (you definitely shouldn't feel outdone). Once again, hope you have a blast in Portugal / Spain! :)

I didn't take as many photos as I would have liked so I checked your site in hope - I'm glad you took plenty. I can't believe you did two Christmas dinners in two days!

How on earth did you fit 7 people round your table?!

Um... it's just lucky we're all good friends. Also, I was probably the only one with a waistline over 30 inches.

I try my best to find space for the photos. The kitchen has become a shrine to the Northern Beaches.

Oh yes, how I love roast parsnip. Unfortunately the roast parsnip doesn't consider that photo particularly complimentary - I think it was the harsh flash.

dont worry parsnip. pasty is in.... with the new push on skin cancer awareness, new albino pin up girls nicole kidman, cate blanchett, naomi watts, abbie cornish etc have made a resurgence.

Sydney Christmas time was warm yet as predicted grey and cloudy!

I've seen 2 blue sky days in the 20 days I have been home...that won't be hard to miss! Temp is a lowly 22C or so, hardly the roasting summers we were used to growing up.

Glad to see you expats had a lovely time at the Mercer St Cafe!

Best of luck in Spain and Portugal!
