39 days

I can't wait until the ban on smoking in enclosed public spaces starts on July 1. I might even start going to bars and clubs and all the places I've avoided before because they stink. Maybe.

I just wish the ban was going even further. I hate having to shift to another part of the train/tram platform every time someone nearby lights up.

I took this on the way to work this morning. Attractive.

I can't believe you took that photo! Did anyone spot you?

Shamefully I rather enjoy being a passive smoker sometimes. Not all the time though. Most of the time I'm totally with you in moving away. And I loath the smoke smell on clothes and hair after being in a bar. But just occasionally my inner smoker appears and breathes in deeply!

Can't wait! Sick of constantly coughing in bars and clubs and getting gunk in my contacts.

I wish they'd do something drastic in Germany soon too. Their smoker-loving policies are seriously one of the main reasons why living there is such a challenge. Sometimes I think I could just live forever in Australia's wonderfully anti-smoking society.

That picture is an absolute shocker!

hehe... Cal do you remember my work trip to Shenyang in 98 when you taught me phrases in Mandarin (which I still remember!)? I was also prepped in how to take photos of people without them knowing.

But I'm not sure how well I did. She seems to be looking at the camera.

KO, I find it quite funny how Germany is so advanced and efficient in everything except anti-smoking legislation!

According to Wikipedia, Hong Kong has banned smoking indoors and even on beaches!

rolling up dried leaves with paper and lighting it with fire to inhale the flavoured smoke doesnt really go hand in hand with modern living does it???!!!

everything else has moved on, but smoking is a reminder that man once sat around a campfire...toothless, shoeless and hunting beasts with wooden clubs.

Joe, you are right. They have tight rules and regulations for everything (e.g. not being allowed to mow the lawn on Sundays!) except smoking! It's almost a farce.
